A teacher-training day in Breda

On September 25th, Libréon organised a teacher-training day at the Newman College in Breda.  Librēon is the board of fourteen secondary schools in the Breda region. Within these schools, approximately 9,500 students are taught every day. More than 1150 employees, teachers, support staff, managers, are jointly responsible for the smooth running of this education. Our schools are not only located in Breda but also in Zundert, Baarle-Nassau and Oosterhout. After having successfully implemented a OLS-event earlier this year, SusMetro has been invited to lead two workshops on demonstrating the OLS Land Use Change in combination with the Metropolitan FoodScape Planning tool. The workshops had been well attended (15 teachers during the first WS and 11 teachers during the second). After the presentation, teachers worked in groups of 3-4 persons, making use of a series of maps from the wider Breda region showing land use, food groups and soil quality. They received a series of tasks to work through to deliver scenarios for making the ecological footprint of Breda’s food consumption smaller.
